The Wüsthof magnetic blade guard is a hinged polypropylene sheath with a magnetic closure. Available in narrow versions for blades up to 16 or 26 cm long and in a wide version for blades up to 26 cm long.

The polypropylene case opens on a hinge and closes with a magnet, so it can be fitted quickly and securely, even with one hand. The narrow 16 cm version takes blades up to 2.5 cm wide and is recommended for paring knives, small knives and other short, narrow-bladed tools.

In a kitchen drawer or a carry bag, it protects the fine edge from scratches and from contact with other tools.

After use, hand wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately. Only Swibo and explicitly dishwasher-safe models may go in the dishwasher. Store in a wooden block or on a magnetic strip; keep blades from touching each other.

Maintain the edge with a whetstone or honing steel; professional sharpening once a year is recommended. Do not cut frozen food, bone, or on hard ceramic surfaces.
