The Opinel No.08 is a classic pocket knife with a wooden handle and a stainless steel blade, available with an olive wood or an oak handle. The Virobloc locking ring makes everyday use safe and convenient.

For more than 130 years, the Opinel No.08 has won over outdoor enthusiasts and everyday users with an unchanged formula for success. The natural grain of the wooden handle makes every piece unique. The stainless steel blade needs no special maintenance and stays reliable even in damp conditions.

The classic Virobloc rotating-ring lock holds the blade firmly when open and keeps it securely closed. Joseph Opinel designed the first of these knives in the French Alps in 1890; since then the company has made these distinctive knives in the same small Savoyard town, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
