Fischer household honing steel with a round cross-section, a 25 cm honing surface and a black plastic handle: a basic tool designed for quickly touching up household knives.

The round (cylindrical) cross-section is one of the most common honing steel shapes: drawing the blade along the rod at a low angle (approx. 15–20 degrees) evenly realigns both sides of the edge and restores its micro-bite. The 25 cm working length is enough for 20–25 cm kitchen knives, which can be drawn along it in a single stroke.

The black plastic handle gives a safe, comfortable grip. The household version is ideal for quick maintenance between cutting tasks: it does not remove material from the blade but realigns the existing edge, so regular use extends the time between sharpenings.
