The Opinel Oyster knife has a short, pointed 6.5 cm Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade, a warm-toned bubinga wood handle and a Virobloc safety locking ring.

The blade is sharp only at the tip. This deliberate design allows the tight seal of an oyster shell to be opened safely without damaging the shell or the hand. The 6.5 cm length and the strong, pointed tip are ideal for opening oysters and other shellfish, where a shorter, controllable blade gives better control than longer kitchen knives.

Bubinga is a West African tropical hardwood with deep reddish-brown grain, exceptional hardness and a decorative appearance; it is heavier and more water-resistant than the beech usually used for Opinel pocket knives. The handle gives a comfortable grip even with wet hands, which is especially important when opening oysters.

Specifications:

  • Blade material: Sandvik 12C27-MOD stainless steel, 55-57 HRC
  • Blade length: 6.5 cm
  • Handle material: bubinga
  • Lock: Virobloc safety locking ring

Additional manufacturer information:

An oyster knife for shellfish lovers. With its short, pointed blade that is sharp only at the tip, this pocket knife efficiently opens shellfish and flat oysters. The bubinga handle is moisture-resistant. Take it to the seaside or give it as a gift to someone special.
